The U.S. inscripted M1860 Light Cavalry Saber has a 35-inch blade, a two branch brass guard and Phrygain pommel with leather grip wrap and iron scabbard. The U.S. M1906 Saber is the same pattern as the Civil War Model 1860 Saber but has a steel guard and pommel and browned steel scabbard. The reverse ricasso is stamped:"A.S. Co./ Ordnance Shell and Flame/1906" in three lines. The obverse is stamped with "U.S./J.C." property in inspection marks.

The M1860 Saber is in good condition, with some light spotting on the blade. The branches of the guard are bent and the wire wrap is missing. The scabbard is in good condition with patches of age dicoloring. 2) The M1906 Saber is in fine condition with most of the original brown finish on the guard and scabbard. All of the leather cover and wire wrap is intact and in fine condition. The blade is bright with most of the original polish.
