Civil War U.S. Martially Inspected Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver
Manufactured in 1863, with a 3 screw frame cut for a shoulder stock. The top of the barrel has the one line New York U. S. America address flanked by dashes, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame and the Texas naval battle scene on the cylinder. Inspector initial "H" is found the left side of the barrel just to the right of the wedge screw, "E" on the right side, "H" on the front portion of the cylinder and "E" on the rebated portion, "T" behind the trigger guard bow and on top of the backstrap. Matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap and partial number "9375" on the cylinder. The wedge is secured too tightly to check internal parts. Grip stamped with legible three letter boxed cartouche on the left side and boxed "JT" on the right side.

Condition: Very good plus. The metal surfaces have been cleaned many years ago and have now aged to a smooth silver gray patina. The trigger guard has an even aged patina. The grip is fine with a few minor chips along the lower edge and some minor handling marks. The cylinder scene is visible and the markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
