Civil War Starr Arms Model 1863 Single Action Percussion Revolver
Manufactured between 1863 and 1865. The left side of the frame is marked "STARR.ARMS.Co.NEW.YORK." and the reverse is marked "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15. 1856.". A small "L" inspection mark is on the right rear of the barrel and a "B" is marked on the left side of the frame behind the recoil shield. The matching serial number is marked on the front of the barrel lug, on the cylinder and the number "2" is visible in the hammer well. The hammer and trigger guard are un-numbered. Fitted with a one piece checkered walnut grip.

Condition: Very good as period refinished. The barrel and loading lever have a smooth brown patina. The cylinder is a mix of refinished blue finish and smooth brown patina. The period custom checkered grip is very good with a few minor dents in the checkering, dings on the bottom and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is very good.
