Manufactured between 1863 and 1865 with approximately 32,000 made and approximately 25,000 purchased under U.S. contract. Dovetail blade front sight and hammer groove rear sight. Standard "STARR. ARMS. CO. NEW. YORK." address on left the side of frame and "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856" on the right. Serial numbers match on the front of the barrel lug, on the cylinder, and the hammer cutout on the frame. There is a "C" inspection mark on some components. Fitted with one-piece varnished walnut grips with a clear boxed script cartouche on the bottom of each side.

Condition: Fine. The frame retains 50% original bright blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The remaining metal surfaces have traces of bright blue with the balance a smooth gray patina. The grip is fine with fine cartouches, a couple of small gouges and some scattered minor scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
