This is a model 1860 Spencer Rifle made for the Union forces during the Civil War. Front sight doubles as lug for socket bayonet, ladder leaf rear sight, three barrel bands, and leather sling. The top of the frame has the standard three line Spencer address and 1860 patent date marking, with no visible model marking on the barrel. Oiled plain full length forearm and straight grip stock.

Condition: Very good. The rifle has a dark mottled patina with some minor spotting. The lightly sanded and reoiled wood is fine with a few slivers missing from the forearm, a repaired wrist, and a few filled repairs on the buttstock, along with some scattered minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
