Manufactured from 1863-1875. Fixed pinched blade front sight and notched rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEW YORK. U.S.A / NEW-MODEL". Brass trigger guard. Single letter inspection marks (W, R, G and D) are stamped on most of the components. Matching serial number on the barrel and on the frame under the left grip. Smooth replacement walnut grips with boxed script "RH" cartouche on the left panel. The inside of the right panel has a carved skull and cross bones over "1903" and the left panel "STACY / H. / WOOD / APRIL 18, 1903".

Condition: Good. The metal surfaces have a dark brown patina with scattered strong traces of the original blue finish, mainly in protected areas.There are a number of toolmarks and dings on the frame and cylinder. There is some minor spotting on the barrel. The trigger guard has a dark untouched aged patina. The grips are also good having been battered on the bottoms leaving numerous dents and chips, and overall a few minor dings and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
