Rare, illustrated, political broadside satirizing the nomination of Charles Brown to political office in Delaware. The broadside states By voting for Charles Brown you are voting to cut Delaware loose from her moorings; blot her Star from the Old Flag of the Union, and make her the battleground of Rebellion. Broadside presents an illustration in upper portion that satirizes a secret society meeting of the Knights of the Grand Confederacy and equates Jefferson Davis with Benedict Arnold and Judas Iscariot. Large amounts of text portray the shortcomings in a tongue-in-cheek manner if one votes for Charles Brown. Bottom portion of broadside is officially designated By Order of the Democratic Confederate State Committee. Broadside measures 29 x 43.5 and exhibits some chipping on fold areas with some text loss. Broadside also exhibits some off setting and has been layed down to archival paper. Circa early 1860's.
