Original 1864 Civil War era document, Muster Roll of the Summit House Hospital Department, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. * Summit House was a hospital for African American soldiers. Conforming to the segregationist practicesof the time, white soldiers had been relocated to make room for the African Americans. Muster roll of Steward, Wardmaster, Cooks, Nurses, Matrons, & detached soldiers, sick, in the Hospital...Payroll of the Hospital, from the 30 day of June, 1864. * document is in very fragile condition, with many breaks tears within the folds, small holes & loss ( as seen in photos ) to the document, with older repairs usinglinen binding tape, along with handwriting script added later, dating to 1896, & then again more pen script dating to 1903. A fabulous document for framing. 21" X 31".
