Civil War Martially Inspected Remington New Model Army Percussion Revolver with Holster

The revolver is equipped with a German silver cone sight, a sight more commonly found on the Old Model revolver. The top barrel flat is stamped "PATENTED SEP. 14, 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A" followed by "NEW MODEL." Note that the barrel marking is not in the usual three-line style. Single letter inspection marks (E, W, P) are stamped on most of the major components, barrel numbered to gun, brass trigger guard and smooth two-piece grips. The left grip panel has a faint script letter cartouche. With the revolver is a leather flap holster.

Fine. The revolver retains 40% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. Some light pitting is present near the muzzle. The grips are very good with a large chip missing at the bottom (right panel), a series of pressure dents on the bottom and some scattered. Mechanically fine. The holster is poor.
