<B>Civil War: Logan, Kelley, and Schenck Signed </B></I><B><I>Carte de Visites</B></I></B></I><B>.</B></I> Collection of three <I>carte de visite </B></I>photographs, each displayed in a 5" x 6.25" ornately gilt-bordered card and signed beneath the image: "<I>John A. Logan</B></I>," "<I>Wm D. Kelley</B></I>," and "<I>Robt. C. Schenck/Ohio</B></I>" (slightly smudged). <B>Gen. John A. Logan</B></I> served in the Mexican and Civil Wars, represented Illinois in the U.S. Senate, and ran for V.P. in 1884. <B>William D. Kelley</B></I> represented Pennsylvania in Congress from 1861-1890. <B>Robert C. Schenck</B></I> represented Ohio in Congress from 1863-1871 and served as U.S. Minister to Brazil and Great Britain. The opening displaying the photograph is 2" x 3.25" with a curved top. There are two cards in this lot; the Logan and Kelley are back to back, and the Schenck and an unsigned George H. Thomas are back-to-back. Each card is one-sixteenth of an inch thick and can carefully be split. The <I>carte de visite </B></I>had to have been placed in the openings separately before they were attached to each other.
