Civil War Era U.S. Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver
Manufactured in 1863, with a 3 screw frame cut for a shoulder stock. The top of the barrel has the one line New York U. S. America address flanked by dashes, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame and the Texas naval battle scene on the cylinder. Inspector initial "G" is found the left side of the barrel just to the right of the wedge screw, "H" on the right side, "G" on the front portion of the cylinder and "H" on the rebated portion and "G" behind the trigger guard bow. Matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap and partial number "2211" on the cylinder, wedge and arbor pin. Fitted with a smooth walnut grip stamped with legible boxed cartouche on the left side.

Condition: Fair. The metal surfaces have a dark gray patina with some minor pitting on the barrel and a number of dings around the wedge. The upper left side of the muzzle is heavily worn leaving the barrel wall very thin in that area. The brass has an aged patina. The grip is good with a small chip on the left toe, some wear on the lower edges, a few minor dings, and an attractive hand rubbed patina. The cylinder scene is faint and the markings clear. The loading lever is loose. The action is very good.
