Description: Available for sale in this lot is a Rogers and Spencer, Civil War era, six-shot .44 caliber percussion revolver. The U.S Ordnance Dept. contracted for 5,000 of these revolvers during the Civil War and this one is #4531. Has matching serial numbers throughout and cartouche with the inspector’s initials RPB on the walnut grips. Everything appears to function correctly. Maker: Rogers and Spencer. Approx. Age: 1864. Serial# 4531. Size: Barrel measures 7-1/2”, overall length of 14”. Condition: Very good for its age, minor wear expected.
