Featured in this lot is Civil War Era leather cartridge case circa 1860's. The cartridge case features a wonderfully and professionally crafted hardened leather with brass emblem and iron rod hinge construction that shows a belt case for cartridges during the Civil War era from the 1860's. The brass emblem is a ARMY emblem with examples dating back to the 1830's during the Second Seminole War. The condition of this Civil War Era cartridge case shows some significant wear to the outside leather frame with a patina to the leather and the brass emblem on the front with the interior showing damage to the cartridge loops. The measurements of this cartridge case is 4 1/8" x 7 1/8" x 2 1/8". The collective weight of this cartridge case is 6oz.
