Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Single Action Percussion Revolver, with Holster and Waist Belt, #105421, .44 cal., 8" streamlined round barrel marked with maker's name and "U.S. America" 1-line address, has patented creeping loading lever; rebated 6-shot round cylinder with the 1843 naval battle scene; open-top frame marked "Colts/Patent" at left, recoil shield cut for stock (not present), brass trigger guard, iron backstrap, 1-pc. oil-finished walnut grips. Mfg'd ca. 1863. Condition is very good retaining no original finishes, being gunmetal gray with scattered cleaned erosion and age-toned brass; edges and markings are very good with traces of rolled cylinder scene remaining. Grips are smooth showing remnant military inspectors' marks at both sides. Visible serial numbers match (wedge is a correct Colt part, but numbered to a different gun). Action is crisp, bore shows moderate black-powder erosion, very good rifling. Black leather holster has mostly intact stitching and straps, brass finial, flap with 2" tear, matching belt with attachments has lost most of its leather finish, brass eagle/wreath belt plate is a likely reproduction. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)
