Civil War Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver, #33731, .36 cal., 7.5'' octagonal barrel with low blade front sight marked ''Address Saml. Colt New-York City'' in one line on top flat, 6-shot round cylinder with rolled naval battle scene; frame is marked ''Colts/Patent'' in tiny letters on left side; brass gripstraps with small rounded triggerguard; one-piece varnished walnut grips. Mfg'd 1853. Condition is about very good having no original finish, but a generally gunmetal gray patina with scattered cleaned erosion, the cylinder scene approx. 50% visible with a clear serial number, the straps with a smooth patina and perhaps 10% original silver on backstrap apron and ahead of triggerguard. Grips are smooth with minor edgewear and chip at left toe, two replaced screws. All visible serial numbers match including wedge and lever. Action is smooth; bore is shiny with deep rifling.
