According to the Nevada Printing History by Robert D. Armstrong, the July 5 show attracted some 200 people, who only paid enough for each performer to earn $1.25, “rather poor pay.” The Sentinel moved from Como to Dayton between 9 and 16 July, making this handbill one of the last to bear the “Como Sentinel” markings. This 5.75” wide by 14” long handbill was designed to fold into fourths, and advertises the performances of the Como Amateurs, musical program, Burlesque Circus, and Grand Ball hosted at Doyle’s Theatre on 5 July 1864. Three small tears, some aging, beautiful condition. The top of the bill is printed with an image of Nimrod, the trained elephant. Includes 13” by 20” frame. - Jacobitz Collection -59843
