Circa 2000 Shoeless Joe Jackson Original Artwork by Arthur Miller. Stirring masterwork derives from the studio of Arthur K. Miller, an eminently skilled New England painter whose work has been exhibited as a one-man show at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown since the year 2000 and is likewise featured in many upscale galleries and private collections worldwide. This portrait of the brilliant but troubled Shoeless Joe is arguably the cream of the crop, and has been used to create one of his top-selling lithographs at his website www.ArtoftheGame.com. Though Miller's style could be characterized accurately at photorealism, his works suggest far more than hypersensitivity to detail, with his brilliant command of light and shadow providing a soulfulness that no photograph could muster. This 24x32" acrylic on board seems to capture the strain and sadness of the 1919 scandal in Jackson's gaze with the subtlety and humanity of Mona Lisa's smile. Unquestionably one of the most arresting works of sports art we have encountered. Framed to 27x36".

Shipping: Framed - without Glass, Large (view shipping information)
