<B>Circa 1950 Cy Young Personally Owned Charcoal Portrait.</B></I> From the same source that provided this auction with the 1908 Cy Young Day trophy and the legendary pitcher's personal traveling trunk comes this wonderful portrait of Young in the later years of his life. The 19x25" artwork offers text at lower right attributing it to Young, reading, "In Appreciation, This caricature sketch of yourself is presented to you with the compliments of the Duquesne Brewing Company of Pittsburgh in appreciation of your appearance on the "Highlights of News & Sports" Television Show. It is our sincere wish that its possession will remind you of this occasion and of our sincere appreciation of your friendship." The slightest water staining along the lowest inch of the sketch paper is barely noticeable, and remains far clear of the artwork itself.
