The commanding countenance that earned the Hall of Fame manager the nickname of "Little Napoleon" is evident in this masterful portrait by acclaimed early baseball photographer Paul Thompson, whose works stand with the likes of Horner, Conlon and Burke as the most collectible in the hobby. It's easy to see why. A small clip at the lower right border, well clear of the image area, is the only condition flaw. Thompson's stamp and a "Baseball Magazine" archives sticker are found on verso.
