Circa 1910 Napoleon Lajoie Decal Bat. Tough full-size model was found by our consignor tucked away for decades in an old cabinet of a home in Cleveland, where this Hall of Fame second baseman was so popular in his day that the ballclub was called the "Naps" during his tenure with the American League representative. The image utilized on his valuable T206 tobacco card is likewise used here, upon the barrel of this "J.F. Hillerich & Son Co. 40L" model, which shows clear Dead Ball era use but none of the cracking or dead wood typical of century-old lumber. The decal remains seventy-five to eighty percent intact, still well within the acceptable and desirable range for these delicate rarities. While a couple full-body pose Lajoie decal bats have hit the auction block in recent years, we can find no examples of this style having been offered, so there's every reason to believe that the wait for another after this one will be quite long.

Shipping: Bats, Clubs, Sticks, Swords, Rif (view shipping information)
