Circa 1860 "Lemon Peel" Model Baseball. Before the "Figure Eight" stitching style that has dominated the game's signature centerpiece, this model populated our National Pastime's earliest days. The reasoning behind the "lemon peel" moniker should be immediately apparent, as the stitching style follows the natural contours of a citrus skin. One will also note the slightly smaller dimensions of the ball, typical of the day. This example remains in remarkably strong condition, with tight stitching and no noteworthy defects to the brown leather hide. An essential purchase for the serious baseball historian.

Shipping: Balls, Pucks, etc., Small (view shipping information)
