This is a pair of horse hobbles from Fort Keogh, Montana. Fort Keogh was built as part of the U.S. Army's expansion into Indian Territory in the 1870's. Constructed after the Battle of the Little Bighorn, the Army Post was in use until it was turned over the Department of Agriculture in 1924. The horse hobbles show hand forged steel with heavy leather straps. They are in good condition. They measure 20" long.
