<B>Cipriano Castro, President of Venezuela, Document Signed,</B></I> four integral pages written on pages one and two, 10" x 14.5", Caracas, July 11, 1907, in Spanish. Browning at the edges, a couple of minor tears at the top, and an uneven left edge where it was removed from a binding, else very good. The document is addressed to General Miguel R. Davila congratulating him on becoming President of the Republic of Honduras. It is signed boldly on the verso. Cipriano Castro amassed a fortune in illegal cattle trading. He recruited a private army which he used to march on Caracas in October 1899, power, and install himself as the supreme military commander. Once in charge, Castro inaugurated a period of plunder and political disorder having assumed the vacant presidency.
