Churchill County Ranches: Alpine Covers and Eastgate Letterhead
1) 1907 billhead from G. B. Williams, dealer in general merchandise, Eastgate, Churchill County, Nevada. Eastgate became a way station for wagons and was later a stop on the Lincoln Highway. Some of the buildings were created from tufa-a most unusual building material. 2) Two 1909 post office registry return receipts postmarked Alpine, Nevada. Alpine had a post office from August 6, 1894 and November 14, 1914. Both of these locations were large sheep ranches for the 10,000 sheep herd of Warren Williams. C1907/1909.
