George Jones produced ironstone, majolica and fine porcelain at
the Crescent Potteries in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England
from 1864 to 1951. It was a relatively small company, but
employed some of the finest designers and modelers in Great
Britain. Their attention to fine design helps George Jones & Sons
to stand out from the competition.

This covered dish has a flowing, almost animated shape.
The piece is rectangular with pinched and bowing sides. The
handles are ribbons. The highly detailed pattern, flows
organically over the piece and into the bowl. The overall affect of
the shape and design must
have been very pleasing to followers of the Aesthetic movement.

Measures 10 x 5-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches high

Very good condition. No chips or repairs. The top handle
has a tight stress spider. And the piece is crazed.
George
Jones & Sons
crescent mark on underside and inside lid.
