George Jones produced ironstone, majolica and fine porcelain at
the Crescent Potteries in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England
from 1864 to 1951. It was a relatively small company, but
employed some of the finest designers and modelers in Great
Britain. Their attention to fine design helps George Jones & Sons
to stand out from the competition.

This sauce tureen has a flowing shape
(rectangular with pinched and bowing sides). The
handles are ribbons. The highly detailed pattern flows
organically over the piece. The overall affect of
shape, color and pattern must
have been very pleasing to followers of the Aesthetic movement.

Measures 7 x 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches high

Very good condition. There is a chip inside the lid next to
the spoon opening (see photo). No other chips, cracks or
damage, although the piece is crazed.
George Jones & Sons
