Rare Chromolithograph “Washington’s Grand Entry into New York, Nov. 25th 1783.” Printed by T. Sinclair 1860

This rare, large 24" x 30" highly colorful Chromolithograph is titled, "Washington's Grand Entry into New York, Nov. 25th 1783." It shows a historic scene where various Revolutionary War era regimental flags and patriotic banners are displayed. Well dressed persons view the parade below from their balconies. This vast array of Americans and patriots includes Native Americans, an African American housemaid, and people of all ages are represented. Among the entourage, we recognize the Marquis de Lafayette and Robert Morris. This exact location in New York City is said to have been identified as 3rd Avenue and The Bowery. It is very nice in condition, well printed with no folds and just a bit of light tone in the margins and selvage. This very rare large size, handsome Litho is the first we have offered and would be an excellent item to frame for display... perhaps at Fraunces Tavern.
