This is a beaded knife sheath and early trade knife from the Chippewa Native American Indians in the 19th Century. The sheath shows an early trade clothe in black and red with Indian tanned hide construction and shows excellent floral 19th Century glass trade seed bead work. The trade knife is wrapped in Indian Tanned hide and has a rich dark patina. Rare early set showing overall good condition with slight signs of use. Museum quality. Sheath is 3 3/8"W x 10 5/8"L with an additional 5.75"L fringe. Knife is 12.5"L. Knife and sheath together are 12.75"L without bottom fringe.
