Pair of Chinese inlaid wooden panels, one featuring a double gourd-form soapstone vase issuing blossoming peonies near a jade carved with a beauty pointing to the right, the composition also including a bowl of grapes and Buddha hand citron, together with an oval plaque pierced with a geometric pattern set above a carved wooden stand; the other plaque similarly decorated with peonies in an archaistic vase to right of a jade carving of a farmer holding a plow, all above a bowl containing pomegranate, peach and pear, further accompanied by a jade plaque reticulated with a crane, all rendered in mutli-colored soapstone, hardstone, jade, bone and wooden inlay, 24.75''h x 16.25''w Provenance: Estate of Mr. and Mrs. Ben H.
