Chinese polychrome enamel decorated porcelain plaque, Republic period, Hejing and Student, attributed to Wang Qi (1884-1942), depicting a young student in a orange robe holding a blossoming sprig and speaking to the scholar Hejing listening tentatively with arms resting on a tree, the upper right entitled 'Hejing xun jian', followed by cyclical date possibly 'jisi' (=probably corresponding to 1929), bearing the signature 'Wang Qi' at Zhushan, sealed 'Bizhen', sight: 14.4''h x 9.125''w, overall: 20.4''h x 15.25''w; Provenance: ex-collection of Mrs. Woo Chen Zon Yin, purchased at Sotheby Parke Bernet, Hong Kong, November 4, 1974, lot #152, by Reynold Tom of Oakland, now offered by his family
