<td width="100%">
Chinese Export cup and saucer, ca. 1760, with rare jousting scene en grisaille made for Duke of Anhalt, a General of Prussian Emperor Frederick the Great. This antique cup has wishbone handle, gold enamel wide border, gold enamel markings on bottom of cup, "chicken skin" glaze. Cup 5 inches across handle. 6.25 inch saucer. Cup has crack from side to bottom, saucer has lost a lot of its gold enamel border. Despite all that, the quality befits royalty with the fabulous jousting scene in a palatial park replete with people and animals. Cf. Beurdeley "Chinese Export" pg. 114, fig. 79. Priced low according to condition; being sold as is. Well worth fixing.
