Chinese Bowie knife, approx. 12-7/8” overall, 8-3/4” stylized blade, 5/16” thick. No markings and no ricasso. Similar knives made by Will & Finck are shown on page 61 of The Knifemakers of Old San Francisco by Bernie Lavine. Hilt is 3-dimentionally carved wood in four panels. The rectangular crossguard ferrule and pommel are cast brass. The tang is peened at the pommel cap. This style knife was made in both China and California in the fourth quarter of the 19th century.
