The contents presently include a spindle with twine, a whorl with two skeins of thread, a large medium brown ball of yarn, several skeins of different colored threads, and some miscellaneous weaving-related objects. A group of fourteen spindles with whorls has been removed by the owner and are displayed in a teak mount. The basket is worn from daily use by the ancient weaver as well as by time. The basket contents vary in condition, while thirteen of the mounted spindles with whorls are in good condition. The remaining spindle has a cracked and bent lower section to the spindle.

Provenance
Skinner, Boston: sale 2209, 20 September 2003
