Chilean Contract Steyr-Hahn Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #435, 9x23mm cal., 5" barrel, blued finish with bright hammer, trigger, and safety; checkered hardwood grips, blade front sight, fixed rear sight with "V"-notched groove, and fixed lanyard loop at bottom of the frame. Pistol is marked "STEYR 1912" on left side of the slide forward of "MOD.1911" and "(Chilean national crest)". Right side of the slide is marked "EJERCITO DE CHILE". Right side frame at the muzzle is stamped "9MM". Matching numbers on frame and slide, magazine floorplate does not match. No visible import marks. Condition overall is very good, retaining approx. 80%-85% blue, showing toning and fine handling marks, with spot of patina to right side of the frame, slide, and grip straps. Additionally, there are some spots of mild pitting on left side of the frame. Grips show age and wear from service use, with scattered scratches and darkening. Action operates smoothly, but the safety will only engage when the hammer is in the lowered position. Bright bore rates very good, with clearly defined rifling. Est.: $700-$1,000. (C&R/PPT)
