Chieftain’s quality silver mounted and niello silver decorated Da sword from south-east Asia. This sword measures 34” overall with 24” blade. The blade is finally silvery inlaid with figures of dancers and florals on both sides. The blade is thick and well forged and very nicely ornamented from hilt nearly to the tip. The grips or handle is also silver which is engraved and blackend with a process similar to niello. A simple handmade and wrapped scabbard is included. The condition is very good with some slight normal wear and aging from being used and carried. Late 19th to early 20th-century. One of the best of these we have seen in a collectors quality sword with a real blade and not a tourist piece. Est.: $600-$1,200.
