Although he became a peaceful Indian, and is best remembered as a signer of the Medicine Lodge Treaty, his younger days were filled with terrorizing white settlers. An earlier collector has penciled on the verso: "<I>Has been a big raider. he led a great raid into Texas in 64, penetrating as far as Gainesville, murdering & pillaging towns & villages</B></I>". With a "<I>W.S.
