Chicago Shipped Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter

Manufactured in 1905. The top of the barrel has the one- line Hartford address, "(BISLEY MODEL) 32 W.C.F." on the left side and the two- line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "9827" on the loading gate. Blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 10 to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company in Chicago, Illinois on May 18, 1905. Colt manufactured approximately 44,350 Bisley revolvers from 1894 to 1915.

Very fine. The revolver retains 60% original blue finish with scattered wear and thinning to gray, and edge wear. The cylinder shows turn lines. The frame and hammer retain almost all of the original slightly faded case colors. The grips are excellent with a few minor nicks along the bottom edges and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
