These three issues are the precursor to what eventually became the highly significant and recognizable underground title <B>Bijou Funnies</B></I>. All of the issues are chock full of strips from Williamson and spot illustrations from Lynch, as well as interviews with all the counter-culture heroes of the day that were coming through Chicago at the time. This is a great batch of mags that are on many collector's want-lists. Owing to the low print run and high attrition rate, you'll never have an opportunity to obtain all three of these at one time ever again. Issue number three was never distributed, and there are only a handful of copies estimated to exist. While 800 were printed, the vast majority were pulped by the publisher when the bill was not paid. This copy came out of Skip Williamson's collection years ago. <B>Estimate: $500-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
