<B>Chicago, IL</B></I> - $100 1902 Red Seal Fr. 686 <B>The Continental NB</B></I> Ch. # (M)2894<BR>Just 15 $100 Red Seals are traced for the entire state, 12 from this bank and one each from three other issuers. Eleven other $100 Red Seal issuers from Illinois remain undiscovered with any survivors at all for this denomination. Needless to say, it is an event whenever a note of this type and denomination becomes available in any grade. Tonight's offering still enjoys vivid officers' ink signatures, despite its well circulated <B>Very Good</B></I> grade, which includes an unobtrusive skinned spot at top center. We sold this note once before, at our 2002 Central States Numismatic Society auction, where the winning bidder paid $2,760.
