Produced in the 1890s. Rebated barrel with a band of raised floral engraving, the left side of the frame decorated with leaf patterns and lined background, and the side plate has deeply cut checkering. Around the inside of the left grip panel is "THE PROTECTOR/ PAT.MCH.6.83.AUG.29.93", and the opposite side is marked "CHICAGO FIRE ARMS CO./CHICAGO. ILL." The squeezable back strap has a contoured, oval, hard rubber panel with diamond patterns and checkering. Matching numbers are present on the side plate, magazine and frame.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 97% plus unpolished original nickel finish with some light flaking. The pearl is very fine with a hairline crack on left panel and a few minor handling marks. The hard rubber grip has a couple minor stress marks around the retention screw, with crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
