Chiang Kai-shek and Madame Chiang Signature Lot. Includes an un-canceled United States .03 cent National Capital Sesquicentennial stamp mounted to a 5” x 3” backing sheet on which Chinese President Chiang Kai-shek has signed his name in Chinese characters along the right side of the stamp. Accompanying the President’s signature is a block of four Chinese 50th Anniversary of the Republic of China commemorative stamps featuring an image of Sun Yat-Sen and signed in ink by Madame Chiang “May-ling Soong Chiang” across the block. Included is the one-page typed transmittal letter on Office of the President Republic of China letterhead, Taipei, Taiwan, June 8, 1962, signed by Chiang Kai-shek’s secretary, with the original transmittal envelope. The letter suffers some damage near the bottom where the stamps were mounted. Their removal has left a small tear and abrasion to the surface of the paper, else the signatures are in fine condition.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
