The item features a bead and quill worked pipe bag from the Cheyenne Native American Indians. The piece has excellent porcupine quill work with mineral dyed design in red, blue, and orange. The bag is constructed of Indian tanned hide and also show 19th century glass trade seed beads in a wonderful geometric pattern showing greasy yellow, sky blue, red white hearts, chalk white, medium green, dark translucent green beads. The piece shows fancy beadwork across the top and side edges. The bag does show bead loss on the reverse side of the bag. Provenance: This is from a Large Western and Native American Indian private collection in Billings, Montana. Overall measures 29.5“L x 6.5“W.
