The lot features an exceptional fully beaded papoose cradle from the Cheyenne Native American Indians from Lame Deer, Montana. The vintage 20th Century piece shows an Indian tanned hide construction with early floral trade calico lining and exceptional glass trade seed beads in a wonderful traditional geometric pattern. The beadwork shows a Cheyenne pink base with chalk white, green, greasy yellow and semi-transparent dark blue. The papoose appears to be a full size various that would fit a newborn child and currently has a vintage doll wrapped in red stroud clothe. The piece is from the Cheyenne Indians from Lame Deer, Montana a truly wonderful addition to the provenance of the piece. Provenance: From a large early American and American Indian private collection in San Jose, California. The piece shows a fine condition with only slight bead loss. This is truly a wonderful well displayed piece shows unbelievable craftsmanship and good museum condition. The papoose measures 15 3/4" long, 6 3/4" wide, and 5 3/4" deep.
