The lot features a set of brass covered metal dance bells from the Cheyenne Native American Indians datint to the late 19th Century. The set would have been worn as arm bands, cuffs or legging bands for dance ceremonies. The set was harvested from early sleigh bells which most likely were traded to the Cheyenne Indians. The set shows a total of thirteen brass covered metal bells on a harness saddle leather band which is tied with Indian tanned hide ties. Each set is approximately 10.5-11"L inside wrist size. Each bell is 1.5"x1.25".
