The piece is from the Cheyenne Native American Indians and is a double sided beaded flat bag from the Otto Ernst Collection. The first side shows a beaded cross design with four boxes and the other side showing a geometric box design. The pouch is from circa 1890 with 19th century glass trade seed beads sinew sewn with a cut fringe accent framing the bag. This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming.
