The piece features a rare beaded scabbard and trade knife from the Cheyenne Native American Indian people. The scabbard shows wonderful tight 1800's glass trade seed beadwork that is sinew sewn on Indian tanned Buffalo hide. The front shows tin jingle cones and a rare long beaded drop also having tin jingle cones. The scabbard has an early trade knife included. This piece is from a private collection and is from circa 1890. Scabbard is 11" long with an additional 9.5" long drop. Knife is 12.25" with an 8" blade. Very rare condition.
