This is a Cheyenne Native American Indian double side beaded flat pouch. Early 19th century glass trade seed beads (greasy yellow, chalk white, Hudson Bay red white hearts, navy, dark green). The bag is sinew sewn on Indian tanned Elk hide. This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming. Bag is from circa 1890.
