Unique four page transcript from an August 14, 1946, interview given by Nimitz in Schenectady, New York, for a national NBC audience, via NBC affiliate station, WGY. Signed and inscribed at the top of the first page, “To Captain Joseph Evan—A life long friend and a splendid engineer—Best wishes and great aloha—C. W. Nimitz—Fleet Admiral USN. Signed with pen used to sign Japanese surrender terms, CWN.” In fine condition, with staple to top left, a mild shade of toning, and some light wrinkling.

Evans was a 1907 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and a personal friend of Admiral Nimitz who worked closely with General Electric in Schenectady, overseeing their Naval contract work. An historically important, one-of-a-kind piece of autographed military memorabilia. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
