Dated 29 October 1954 upon his personal stationery, letter reads in full, �Dear Mr. Treston: Many thanks for your friendly and courteous letter of Oct. 20 regarding our daughter Mary and her shell collection. Mary is indeed a happy and contented girl. Sincerely yours- C.W. Nimitz�. With original envelope addressed in Nimitz�s hand. 8'' x 10.5'' letter has tape remnants along one edge of verso, otherwise very good.
