Chester Gould - Original Comic Strip Art for Dick Tracy dated 9-1-1933 (Chicago Tribune Syndicate, 1933). Here is a truly rare opportunity for someone to own an original piece of Dick Tracy strip art signed by Chester Gould. This piece was originally given away in 1933 by radio station WGN on the Tony D'Orazi program. On the top right-hand side, written in pen it states, "To Bruce Zillmer--First Prize in Tony D'Orazis contest over WGN--best wishes Chester Gould." Below Chester's signature the DJ signed, "Congratulations and every good wish to you Bruce, sincerely Tony D'Orazi." This strip has Dick Tracy, Junior, Tess and two unknown villains. The strip is called "A Scheme" and was published in 1933. Dick Tracy strips before 1940 are almost never offered for sale and one that is signed by Chester Gould is almost unheard of! This piece measures 7"x 21" and is ready to frame. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
